Swati Verma is a fashion designer and stylist who has been in the business for the past 10 years under the label MYST. Prior to this she worked with the Aditya Birla group as Area Head U.P. and Uttaranchal, taking care of their viscose division under Grasim. She is an Alumni of Lady Shri Ram college, Delhi university and graduated in Political Science and has completed her MBA from IIFT (Indian Institute of Foreign Trade), New Delhi specializing in marketing.
While working with Grasim, she had the opportunity to work on projects with some leading designers like Anita Dongre & Raghvendra Rathore among others.

Asian Parliamentary Debate Topic:
Team Composition:
– Each team consists of two speakers.
– Designate specific roles for your speakers: Proposition & Opposition.
Understand the Motion:
– The debate begins with a motion or proposition presented by one of the teams. Make sure
your team thoroughly understands the motion as it will be the subject of your arguments.
Speaking Times:
– Each speaker has a specific amount of time to speak: 4 mins with 1 minute rebuttal
– You may also have a 15-second grace period after your allotted time.
Refute and Rebut:
– Focus on refuting the arguments made by the opposing team and advancing your own team’s
case.
– Avoid introducing new material in your final speeches.
Evidence and Sources:
– Provide evidence and cite sources to support your arguments.
– Be ready to defend the credibility of your sources if challenged.
Maintain Decorum:
– Maintain decorum and respectful language throughout the debate.
– Avoid personal attacks or offensive remarks.
Preparation Time:
– Utilize the allotted preparation time of 40 mins before the debate to research and prepare
your arguments.
Engage with the Motion:
– Address the motion directly in your arguments, either affirmatively or negatively, based on
your stance.
Win Over the Judges:
– A panel of judges will evaluate the debate based on criteria such as argumentation, style, and
strategy.
– Be persuasive and make a strong case to win over the judges.
The first proposition and opposition speakers will compile their sides and summarise all the
arguments made in the debate at the end for an allotted time of 2 mins.

– While debates are competitive, remember to enjoy the experience and the opportunity to
engage in constructive discourse.
Team Size: ach team can consist of a maximum of 5 people. This limit ensures that teams are of
manageable size and that everyone can contribute effectively.
Time Limit: The total time allocated for creating the ad, including the jingle and logo, is 1 hour.
This time limit encourages creativity and efficient decision-making.
Theme or Topic: Define a theme for the topic given to you for the ad. This could be a product,
service, or cause that participants must create an ad for.
Original Content: All elements of the ad, including the jingle and logo, should be original and not
infringe on any copyrights or trademarks.
Jingle Length: Specify the maximum length of the jingle, for example, 30 seconds. This ensures
that teams create a concise and memorable jingle.
Logo Design: Teams should create a logo that represents the theme or topic and is visually
appealing.
Equipment and Tools: Ads to be made on ……………Teams can bring their video cameras, audio
recording equipments such as portable microphones. We however do not promise any tech or
charging or any high end support at the venue
Judging Criteria: You will be judged on creativity, effectiveness, originality, and adherence to the
time limit.
Presentation: The ads may be presented through live presentations or pre-recorded videos of
not more than 2 min
Team Size: Teams should consist of 5 to 8 members.
Time Allotment: Each performance should be a maximum of 10 minutes.
Language: Performances to be in Hindi minus the use of abusive language.
Content: Ensure that the play’s content is respectful and suitable for a diverse audience.
Respectful Behavior: Maintain a respectful and courteous attitude towards the audience, other
participants, and authorities.
Clean-Up: Ensure that the performance area is left clean and free from litter after your play.
You may use percussion instruments, flute or any non electrical wire less musical instruments
Time Limit: Each participant will be given a specific time limit to perform, 3-5 minutes for poetry,
shayari, or stand-up comedy.
Original Content: Participants are to perform original content, so make sure your performance
is not plagiarized.
Respectful Language: Ensure that your performance is respectful and avoids offensive or
inappropriate content.
Prepare and Rehearse: Practice your performance to ensure you make the most of your allotted
time and engage the audience effectively.
No Heckling: Respect the other participants and the audience by refraining from heckling or
interrupting others’ performances.
Stay Within Time Limits: Adhere to the time limit to ensure that everyone gets a fair chance to
perform.
Be Supportive: Encourage and support other participants, as open mic events are often about
fostering a creative and supportive community.
Format: Essays will need to handwritten,

Scoring:
– Points for correct answers as elaborated on the spot by the Quiz Master.
– You can have bonus questions for additional points.
– There may be points Deducted for incorrect answers
Time Limits:
– There is a time limit for each question to maintain the quiz’s pace.
Tiebreakers:
– There are tiebreaker questions or rounds in case two or more teams have the same score.
Fair Play:
– We Encourage sportsmanship and fair play among participants.
There maybe a pre written round in case of overwhelming participation for elimination and
choosing teams for stage rounds

pitch to effectively communicate your vision.
Judging Criteria: Judges will include innovation, feasibility, market research, and presentation
skills for final scores.
Team: Team of two is allowed to present
Research: Conduct thorough market research to understand your target audience, competitors,
and industry trends.
Financials: Develop financial projections that include startup costs, revenue forecasts, and
potential risks and challenges.
Ethics and Sustainability: Consider the ethical and sustainability aspects of your business idea,
as these may be important judging factors.
Intellectual Property: Protect any intellectual property related to your idea, such as trademarks
or patents, if applicable.
Submission Deadline: Entries to be submitted no later than 5pm on 15th November, 2023
Dress Code: If you are invited for the final presentation or pitch event, be sure to dress in
Western formals for Gentlemen and Western/Indian formals for ladies
Feedback: Be open to feedback from mentors, teachers, or other students to refine your
business idea and presentation.
Practice: Practice your presentation and anticipate questions that judges may ask.
Confidence: Be confident in your idea and your ability to present it. Believe in the value of your
